First of the landscapes that I did when in Colorado. The beauty that is the Rockies took me off-guard. Backpacking to this remote area in the High Wilderness did not disappoint.
"Genesis 1:6-8 And God said, "Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters." So God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome. And it was so. God called the dome Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day."

I can only imagine the moment you came across this scene, it must have been absolutely breathtaking.
Your composition of the picture is near perfect with the grassy line leading across the left side right to the mountain peak and the shadows finishing on the right, very well planned out. The light cutting across the mountain adds another layer of color to the picture and I feel helps to add more separation of the background. It almost makes me feel like I am looking at two different pictures, one of the lake and one of the mountains.
The color and contrast in the clouds again leads my eye to the mountain top and then back down to the lake. All in all a very impressive effort well done.
All over the net we see pictures of beautiful landscapes, beautiful captures of the wonders given by our home, beauty that often is to be be represented through wonderful photographys. This is no exception.
A scenery truly worth the word magic indeed.
This is a photo that's well balanced in aspects of composition and light/contrast. Colors are even and the elements suits just as fine.
I've really tried to come up with some constructive criticism without any result, this is such a well taken photo that leaves the vewing eye satesfied.
Congratulations on a very well taken photo, thank You for sharing.
wouldnt it be neat if you could capture an image for all of the 7 (or 6) days that God created? It could be like a unique project for you to work on over time. just a thought
The San Juans are the best. Great shot. Telluride is one of the U.S.'s best kept secrets, except maybe to skiers, movie stars and the wealthy. A bit out of the way but SO worth it.
