I am starting to think L zooms may be a tad bit over rated. I just sold my 24-70 2.8L and am getting a $300 Canon 24mm 2.8. Primes (even the cheap non-L ones)are light and almost alwyas have better image quality than the zooms...and filters are a helluva lot cheaper :)

I don't have much experience with Landscape Zooms with the L lenses, but I do agree with you. I'm getting a prime next for landscape pictures I think. I've always been a firm believer that the photographer makes a picture great, not the equipment : )
