And that's exactly what this picture says to me. I love the coordination between colours, the subtle brown/black of the road combined with pale yellow leaves. white tree trunks line the road and invite the eye to wander down it, gaze into the distance before flicking back to the present. I can hear the noises of the leaves and the wind when i look at this picture, feel the slightly-warm wind playing around my neck. This picture embodies the soul of autumn. I love it.
I have to agree with PhotographyByDanni, this picture would work very well in 3 frames, side by side, giving a window-like effect. Also, many times before i have seen a picture of a road through a forest, but none as good as this. No other criticism!
Overall, 4 and half stars. Beutiful picture that describes emotion and environment with magnificent colour and simple lines.
I really like the play between highlight and shadows in this photo. the shadows orchestrate themselves out really nicely.
Its beautiful lighting the only area where things get a little hot is along the road towards the top there is an area where the sun has burst through and it looks nearly washed out.
I think the only complaint I have about this photo is that it places a emphasis on the road. I don't want to see the ruts of a 4x4. While the symbolism of the road is an important element of this photo I feel it has been exaggerated some. We have these beautiful trees all around us and above us and we have compositionaly cropped much of them out. tilting the camera up would of still left for plenty of road to wander our dreams into but given us more of a vision of just what that dream entails.
